BBI's Year of Impact: Making a Difference Beyond Giving Tuesday

Reflecting on a year of impactful giving - BBI's commitment goes beyond GivingTuesday, showcasing meaningful partnerships with several organizations.

In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, we're thrilled to reflect on a year of heartfelt contributions and transformative initiatives. At BBI, giving is not confined to a single day; it's a year-round commitment. Take a look at the incredible milestones we've achieved in collaboration with organizations dedicated to making a positive impact on our community.

Habitat for Humanity Broward - Building Homes, Creating Communities

This year, BBI took significant strides in its partnership with Habitat for Humanity Broward. The highlight is the groundbreaking ceremony for the BBI Village project, which is set to witness the construction of 20 townhomes by the end of 2023-2024. Committed to fostering stable homes, BBI pledged to support four new Family Home Sponsorships at BBI Village.

The commitment doesn't end there – BBI has now reached an impressive 24 lifetime Family Home Sponsorships, including the Bob and Sherry Taylor Park. Three new homes for Habitat families have broken ground, as part of a generous gift dedicated to creating BBI Village.

BBI's impact extends beyond construction; the team has consistently supported initiatives like the CEO Build for the fourth consecutive year and provided in-kind sponsorship for the Collegiate Challenge. As a result, 80 individuals have found a safe and decent place to call home in completed Habitat houses.

One particularly noteworthy project is the Beloved Community Mural, made possible by a gift in November 2022. This mural not only gives homeowners a voice but also draws attention to the cause, attracting hundreds of customers to Habitat's ReStore.

Adding a personal touch, Pat Grant's family, BBI President, became a Family Home Sponsor, exemplifying the profound impact individuals can have in creating thriving communities.

In a groundbreaking development, we are thrilled to announce that BBI is doubling the joy this GivingTuesday by generously sponsoring two additional homes at BBI Village.

Sheridan House - Supporting Families in Need

BBI has been a steadfast supporter of Sheridan House, participating in multiple fundraising events throughout the year such as the Goliath Gauntlet obstacle race, Annual Family Values 5K, Annual Spring Auction and the Key Largo Fishing Tournament where we contributed and played a key role in generating $229,000.

These funds directly benefit single moms, kids, and families in need. Currently, 14 single moms and 22 children reside in the single moms' village, with over 220 single mothers and their children benefiting from the single moms' ministry. Moreover, 20 families participate in homes designed for middle school-aged boys, creating a holistic support system for diverse family needs.

Back on My Feet - Fort Lauderdale - Empowering Lives

BBI is a proud supporter of Back on My Feet, having joined forces back in 2020 to establish the 14th chapter in Fort Lauderdale. This year marked the 3rd anniversary of the nonprofit in south Florida, with BBI serving as the exclusive sponsor for the chapter.

Excitingly, we are happy to share that in 2023, we welcomed 60 new members and assisted 44 individuals in achieving meaningful employment. This initiative is a testament to the transformative power of community support in helping individuals rebuild their lives.

Hope South Florida - Providing Essential Facilities

Understanding the importance of basic necessities, BBI donated a 6-unit shower facility to Hope South Florida, an organization dedicated to aiding people experiencing homelessness. This contribution aims to provide dignity and hygiene to those in vulnerable situations.

LifeNet4Families - A Day of Giving Back

BBI donated an additional 6-unit shower to LifeNet4Families. As part of our commitment to hands-on involvement, the day before Thanksgiving, the BBI team dedicated their time to giving back to the community at LifeNet4Families. The team volunteered in the kitchen, preparing and serving meals, and contributed to the food pantry by stocking, organizing, and preparing food boxes for distribution. Additionally, 500 goodie bags were donated to brighten the day for those in need.

As we celebrate the impact made throughout the year, this Giving Tuesday and every day, we honor the spirit of giving that unites us all. BBI remains committed to being a force for positive change, and we look forward to continuing building stronger families and communities in the years to come.
