BBI Joins Confectionery Leaders at 2025 State of the Industry Conference

BBI attended the State of the Industry Conference from March 2-4 at JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort, fostering connections and gaining insights.

From March 2-4, BBI proudly participated in the annual State of the Industry Conference (SOTIC) hosted by the National Confectioners Association (NCA) at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort. As a premier gathering for confectionery leaders, SOTIC provides a vital platform to gain the latest market insights, foster networking opportunities, and discuss emerging trends.

This year's conference welcomed approximately 800 attendees, including top executives, manufacturers, suppliers, brokers, and key retailers. NCA President and CEO John Downs opened the event with engaging remarks on the industry's resilience, celebrating a record-breaking $54.2 billion in annual sales despite challenges such as inflation and shifting consumer behaviors.

BBI had a strong representation at the conference, with more than 20 professionals, including executive leaders and account representatives from various channels of trade. As a proud sponsor of the Kickoff Happy Hour on Sunday, BBI embraced the opportunity to connect with industry peers over cocktails, appetizers, and meaningful conversations. This sponsorship reinforced BBI's commitment to fostering relationships and driving meaningful conversations with key decision-makers.

BBI's Account Executive, Lindsay Grant, emphasized the event’s importance in staying ahead of the dynamic CPG market, stating, "This conference brings together leaders and analysts to share insights on trends, consumer behavior, and the future of retail. It’s an invaluable opportunity to strategize, network, and drive growth."
Brantley Taylor, BBI's Client Development Executive and rising BBI professional shared how the experience fostered diverse leadership levels and a sense of community among young professionals, noting, "The biggest value is that you get exposure to a lot of different levels of leadership."

Throughout the conference, discussions covered key topics such as leadership development, industry challenges, and the future of retail innovation. Keynote speakers Jesse Cole and Molly Bloom delivered inspiring messages on creative thinking and resilience in business. BBI actively engaged in high-level conversations, gaining insights into the growing role of social media and e-commerce in confectionery sales, strategic pricing trends, and the industry's ongoing advocacy efforts in areas like sugar reform and trade policies.

BBI's presence at SOTIC highlights our commitment to staying at the forefront of the industry evolution, strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, and shaping the future of retail and consumer engagement.
